This Contest was Juried by a Team of International Women Jury Members including the Together Arts Team and it’s Artists Masoom Sanghi and Anjali Sanghi from INDIA, Eminent Artist Reinna Cottier from NEW ZEALAND, and well known photographers Annlynn Ward and Tina Marie from U.S.A.
The 1st Place Winner: MARIA ROVA from FIJI wrote: “Delighted with my First Place win – THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I look forward to my artwork being part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations… My painting, TINANA II, STRENGTH OF A WOMAN, was done in dyes and resist on white silk. It depicts symbolically the many roles a Fijian woman in a rural village context fulfills as she struggles to care for her family, provide for her community, and uphold the cultural traditions that are her identity.”
Many contestants shared their life stories as an artist along with their entries. ‘Paula Cork’ from U.S.A. was declared the International Discussions Contest Winner.
Another participant and winner Jean Hamilton -Fford wrote: “Being recently disabled, my artwork has helped me to look forward to every day. I find such joy in creating and sharing my work! It’s been an exercise in invention, out-of-the-box thinking, creative intuition and finding that ‘zone’ where creations take on a life of their own through my hands without my ‘knowing’ how it all happened. Love that! Thank you for the opportunity to discuss this piece and why I create art. This is a fabulous contest for wonderful women!”

Together Arts Team firmly believes that women belonging different strata of society are endowed with exceptional artistic talent. Financial, social and other constraints have been a major impediment in the blossoming of the latent artistic streak. These restrictions including great amount of time and effort required to individually showcase one’s talent, has suppressed the aspirations of a large number of talented women spread across all regions of the country and the world. Together Arts aims to empower the women, children and their families by providing an opportunity to freely exhibit their glowing power and present their brilliance before the world at large. It is our firm belief that we would be doing a small service when their artistic genius is presented before the discerning and knowledgeable world. It would provide them with the motivation to rise above the social challenges and carve a niche for themselves in the universe of Arts, along with fulfilling all their other responsibilities… The mission of Together Arts is to spread ‘Peace through Art’.
